Motor Vehicle Licensing
All customers must be an enrolled Oneida Tribal Member, and reside within the Oneida Nation Boundaries to qualify for Oneida Nation Motor Vehicle Services.
Things a customer needs to bring in for registration:
- Proof of Residency – Acceptable Documentation (Enrollment card or mail-outs are not acceptable for proof.)
- Title
- Lien Release (if applicable)
- Enrollment Card (Not accepted as Proof of Residency)
- State ID/WI Drivers License (Must have current address of residency)

New Registration
When you purchase a new vehicle, receive it as a gift, or are a new Wisconsin resident, you must apply for a new Certificate of Title in your name.
If you bought the vehicle through a licensed Wisconsin dealer, please refer to the Dealer Purchases tab for instructions.
Required Items:
- MV1 – Wisconsin Title & License Plate Application
- Original Title (not a copy), signed by the seller(s), including Odometer Reading & Lien Release (if applicable)
- In certain circumstances, other specialty forms do apply
- Proper Identification cards and proof of residency mentioned above
Note: All Titles are printed and mailed from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Madison.
Required Fees:
- Title Transfer fee $214.50
- Plate fees – Prices vary (Oneida Nation MV Fees)
- Lien Fee (if applicable) $10.00

Dealership Responsibilities
Dealers are required to mail Oneida DMV the following:
- Original MV11
- Original Title or Certificate of Origin with proper signatures
- MV2132 – Request for Manual Processing-Dealer & Agent (terminal id required)
- Any Fees Collected including state fees (Made payable to Oneida Licensing)
- Copy of Oneida Enrollment Card
- Lien Release (if applicable)
- In certain circumstances, other specialty forms if required
Registration fees can be paid at the dealership or at the Oneida Motor Vehicle Office.
Note: Oneida Motor Vehicle customers are exempt from the Hybrid fee ($75), Wheel Tax fees, State Plate Issuance fee ($6 or $12), and processing fees.

Customer Responsibilities
Customers can apply for Pre-Registration in person. A copy of the MV11 from the dealership is required.
We highly recommend customers follow up with Oneida DMV after purchasing a vehicle from a dealership to ensure that everything has been fully processed.
