PROVIDER BIO:
I am an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation and belong to the Bear clan. I am also a mother of five children, four (4) daughters, and one (1) son. I have 7 grandchildren, four (4) granddaughters and (3) grandsons. My hobbies include spending time with my family, beading, crafts and learning new sober things to do with my loved ones. I am a strong advocate of the sober community, LGBTQIA/ Two-spirit communities and MMIR (Murdered Missing Indigenous Relatives. I started my position as a Recovery Coach with Oneida Behavioral Health in January of 2024. Prior to this I worked in Oneida Tribal Action Plan (TAP) for 2 years, I also volunteered as a Recovery Coach in different areas of the community, when needed.

I enjoy my role as a Recovery Coach, because I get to use my lived experiences in my life to help others. I am not only a person in recovery, but I am also a mother/loved one of addiction as well. I have 3 loved ones who are currently in recovery, and we did it together as a family. We also had the support of Oneida Nation community and Yukwatsistay aka the Valentino family to be a healthy support system in our journey to wellness.

When I work with my recoverees, I promote transparency and honesty, by letting them know I am here to listen to them, with no judgement. I will be here to help them achieve a healthy lifestyle and give them the tools to work on daily barriers in their life, by encouraging them to be independent and confident. Letting them know they are not alone, and that I understand helps them to achieve their goals and expectations in life. I really enjoy what I do, I bring my heart and soul into my position and am always willing to share my own personal lived experience to help others. I am a true believer that everyone can recover with hard work and support.
