Oneida Nation Economic Impact Study
The Oneida Nation is excited to share the Economic Impact Study recently released. The findings quantify the Nation’s economic impact to over $1 billion dollars in the State of Wisconsin. The independent study was conducted by St. Norbert’s College for Business and Economic Analysis.
This number accounts for the direct effect contribution in 2023 to the tune of 3,272 jobs, $179.2 million in income, and $653.7 million in output. The combined effects of total tribal operations are responsible for an average annual impact of $983.8 million in output, $306 million in employee compensation, and 5,409 jobs in Brown and Outagamie counties. When looking at inclusion of state impact, those numbers invariably rise.
Chairman Tehassi Hill said “This study continues to validate the Nation is a substantial economic driver in the local, regional and state economy. In addition to quantifying our economic impact it provides a set of data for our leadership to use for decision making and community education. Although I am proud of our economic contributions, we still have needs to be addressed in our community. Affordable housing, mental health, addiction, education, family services, poverty, law enforcement, clean air and water to name just a few.”
The Oneida Nation collaborates with local and state governments on law enforcement, education, economic diversity, sporting events and a plethora of cooperative opportunities.
