The nine (9) members of the Business Committee (BC) include four officers: Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary; and five (5) at-large council members.

How They are Elected

Every three years all nine seats of the BC are elected in the Oneida General Election. The BC candidates must be qualified voters of the Oneida Tribe as an enrolled member of the Tribe and be at least 21 years of age.

Candidates must also live within Brown or Outagamie Counties. The term of the current BC ends August of 2017.

The following standing committees are focus on specific areas of the Business Committee’s work:

Direct Reports

The BC oversees the following executive managers of the Tribe’s organization:

Gaming General Manager
Chief Financial Officer
Development Division Director
Comprehensive Health Division Director
Environmental Health & Safety Division Director
Governmental Services Division Director
Internal Services Division Director
Division of Land Management Director
Retail Division Director

Each Division Director oversees a different area of the Tribe’s Programs and Services. For example, the Gaming General Manager oversees the gaming operations, and the Chief Financial Officer oversees the Finance area of the organization.

Other offices that report directly to the Business Committee include: Chief Council, Ombudsperson, Legislative Affairs, Emergency Management, and Self Governance.
