Protecting, Connecting and Thriving – OCHD Celebrates Public Health Week

Public Health isn’t always the first thing on your mind, but it is for Oneida Comprehensive Health Division’s (OCHD) Community Health Services Department.

National Public Health Week begins on April 1, and during this week, in particular, the team at Oneida Community Health wants you to know about all of the services that are available to meet your holistic health needs.

Public health professionals work to improve an entire community’s health by helping to prevent the spread of disease, promoting healthy lifestyles and ensuring access to a clean, safe environment. They work together alongside other healthcare providers to improve the entire community’s health and create opportunities to thrive. Here are just a few of the services available through Oneida Community Health:

  • RN chronic disease case management and long-term care
  • Home health services and medical transportation to access medical services
  • Alzheimer and dementia support
  • Diabetes and stroke prevention services
  • Wellness coaching
  • Nutrition counseling, prenatal care support and breastfeeding support
  • Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program
  • Immunization clinics
  • Communicable disease investigation
  • School nursing

This Public Health Week, we want you to know that we’re here to help you thrive and we can’t wait to meet you.
