Harrison Anderson Cornelius, 88, of Oneida, passed away Sunday, September 13 surrounded by family and friends.

Harrison served his country in the Army, 11th Airborne division, during the Korean War era.  He married his wife of 46 years, Diane N. Hill, on November 14, 1953 and they settled in Hartland, WI to raise their family.

Harrison retired after 35 years from Harvey Service in Milwaukee and returned to Oneida to enjoy retirement. He worked for a short time at Oneida Bingo & Casino of Green Bay and enjoyed playing bingo in his spare time.  He also enjoyed watching the Packers.  In addition to his extensive travels, he mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and making everyone he met feel at ease.  He was a man of unwavering faith in God and his light-hearted smile and warm personality will be missed by all who know him.

He is survived by his six children: Vivian (Pete) Dittel, Veronica Glass, Valerie (Joe) Yazzie, Victoria (Michael) Lafond, Terry (Tania) Cornelius, H. Anderson (Pa la) Cornelius.

He is further survived by: 29 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Harrison is also survived by his siblings: Franklin (Nancy) Cornelius, Leonard (Yvonne) Cornelius, Clarence (Sandy) Cornelius, Eleanor Bailey, Ben (Gerri) Cornelius, Josie (Tom) Daebler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson W. and Lillian (Wheelock) Cornelius.

Harrison was also preceded in death by his wife, Diane N. (Hill) Cornelius.

He is further preceded in death by his siblings: Ella Mae Meehan, Delores Skenandore, Lincoln Cornelius, Pauline Cornelius, Melvin Cornelius, 2 grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere after 4:00PM Friday August 18, 2017. The Oneida Hymn Singers will sing at 6:30PM followed by a prayer service at 7:00PM to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue after 9:00AM Saturday at Oneida United Methodist Church. The Oneida Hymn Singers will sing at 10:30AM followed by Harrison’s service at 11:00AM with Pastor Rick Brewer officiating.
