Racquel “Rocky” Hill was born and raised in the heart of Oneida (Site 1) and is the daughter of the late Fredmond “Fritzie” and Shirley Hill. Her parents have always been the main source of her inspiration, and it’s still true today. She has worked in many areas within the Nation for over 35 years. She started as a teenager doing the scoreboards for basketball games at the Civic Center getting paid $10 for four hours of work. After high school, her first real job was in the kitchen at the bingo hall. From there, she became a receptionist for the Land Office, an Administrative Assistant at Conservation, an Assistant to BC Council Member Yogi Metoxen, Assistant to BC Chairperson Tina Danforth, Executive Assistant in what was Legislative Affairs, and lastly she holds the position as the Executive Assistant with the Human Services Division under the direction of Tina Jorgensen.
She has attained an associate’s degree in Office Management/Administrative Assistant Program; bachelor’s degree in Management and Communications, and a master’s degree in Psychology. Rocky is motivated by the challenge of learning new things and by the satisfaction of a job well done.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children Gavin, Stara, son-in-law Aaron and her grandsons Cashius, Baby Aaron, Koda, Arvol, Mishtenye, and granddaughter Anāhkosaeh; watching the Brewers and Packers, golfing, kayaking, singing Oneida hymns, traveling, and just enjoying this life to the fullest.
