Food Assistance Programs
Oneida Nation has a few programs for food assistance:
Emergency Food Pantry – The Oneida Emergency Food Pantry is a service for Community members in need of emergency food help. There is no income requirement.
Food Distribution – The Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) provides USDA Foods to income-eligible households living on the Oneida reservation and to Native American households residing in designated areas near our reservation.
Foodshare – FoodShare, Wisconsin’s version of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), helps people with limited money buy the food they need for good health. We put FoodShare benefit dollars into your FoodShare account each month. We use an EBT (electronic benefit transfer) system, similar to a debit card. After the benefits are in your account, you can buy food at stores, farmers markets, and other places that accept EBT payments. Oneida Foodshare is operated by Economic Support.
