Election Campaign Sign Regulations

To ensure compliance with Election Law 102.5‑9 and the Zoning & Shoreland Protection Law, all candidates and supporters must follow these campaign sign guidelines.

Where Signs May Be Placed
  • Campaign signs are prohibited on all Oneida Nation and Tribal property
  • Signs are permitted only on private property with the express permission of the owner or tenant
  • Signs may not be placed within the road right‑of‑way
Size & Quantity
  • Maximum sign size: 16 square feet
  • Maximum number: 7 signs per building or lot
Removal Requirement
  • All campaign signs must be removed within five (5) business days after the election
Employees of the Nation
  • Nation employees may not campaign during work hours
  • Violations may result in disciplinary action
Enforcement & Fines
  • The Zoning Administrator may remove signs that do not comply
  • Violations may result in fines imposed by the Election Board, as outlined in BC Resolution 01‑22‑14‑A
