The Oneida Business Committee in collaboration with the Oneida Police Department and Emergency Management have determined it is in the best interest to public safety to cancel the General Tribal Council Meeting scheduled for tonight, February 11, 2019.
The Business Committee and Emergency Management have been briefed by the National Weather Service, the forecast calls for continuous snowfall through early Wednesday morning. Although travel to the meeting may be fine, there is concern that after the start of the meeting freezing rain and heavy snow may cause hazardous driving conditions after 9 p.m.
After reviewing the agenda, the Business Committee has determined there isn’t anything on the agenda that is detrimental to the health safety and welfare of the Oneida Nation at this time and can be delayed to assure safe travel for all meeting attendees.
This meeting is rescheduled to Monday, March 25th, 6:00 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center.
