Critical information for all Foodshare recipients

General

As many are aware the Federal Government is currently in a partial shutdown. The impact is being felt to all FoodShare programs across the entire nation including the Oneida Nation.

FoodShare/SNAP

The Oneida Nation Economic Support Office would like to notify all Food Share recipients that it is critical to make sure your case reviews are updated no later than January 17th at the close of business.

All February benefits will be issued by January 20th, and NO benefits will be received in the month of February.  If you miss this deadline you will not receive your Food Share and you will not be eligible for Food Distribution commodities.

All clients are encouraged to make sure to budget accordingly and research other resources that may be available in your service area.  Here are a few in our area.

Oneida Economic Support – Food Card

Enrolled income eligible Oneidas may apply for a food card at Oneida Economic Support office located at 2640 West Point Road in Green Bay from 9:00am through 11 am  Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.  These cards are $25 per household of 1-3 or $50 to household of 3 or more and only good at Festival Foods.

Oneida & Local Food Pantries

There are a number of local food pantries located in and around Outagamie and Brown County, and of course, the Oneida Emergency Food Pantry which is located on Water Circle Place near the Water Tower on Highway 54, just west of the Oneida One Stop and Seminary Road.  Oneida Emergency Food Pantry hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm, and all new applicants must complete applications, state an emergency, and one household member must be an enrolled Oneida. A three day supply is given once per week. For another Food Pantry in your area, please click on the link below.

How You Can Help

The Oneida Community should also be advised that we can help one another and support the needs of those who are being affected by the limitations in these services by donating to our Oneida Emergency Food Pantry.  Please remember to bring NON PERISHABLE food and cash donations to the upcoming General Tribal Council Meetings on January 21 and January 31st.  Donations will be gladly accepted.
