Smith, Richard K.

Richard K. Smith, 76, Wausaukee, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 peacefully at home with his family surrounding him. He was born September 2, 1941 in Tomah, WI, a son of the late Jeanette (Skenandore) and Ervin Doxtater.  Richard went to school in the Appleton area.  On September 30, 1961 Richard married Gloria in Chicago, IL. Richard worked hard as an OTR truck driver for 30 years.

Richard enjoyed listening to country music, hunting, and fishing. He was a hard worker and always had a smile on his face.  Richard was a true family man who enjoyed his children and grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years Gloria Smith; children: Richard (Chris) Smith, David Smith, and Rhonda Smith; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; god child Richard Jorgenson; his beloved dog Haley; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom Jeanette Doxtater; step father Ervin Doxtater; and siblings: Virgil Doxtater, Marian Gonzales, and Arnold Doxtater.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at RYAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 N. Tenth St, De Pere. Oneida Hymn Singers at 1:30 PM with a Funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM.  Please visit www.ryanfh.com to send a condolence to the Smith family.
