Johnson, Barnard, R “Bunny”

Bernard R. Johnson, “Bunny” 86, Oneida, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, April 14, 2018. He was born in Oneida on November 29, 1931 to the late Bernard E. and Millie Johnson. Bunny was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

On August 4, 1956 he was united in marriage to Rose Adams at Oneida United Methodist Church. Bunny was a member of the Oneida VFW as well as Oneida Methodist Church. In 1993 he retired from the Neenah Foundry after many years of service to the company. He enjoyed gardening “mini farming”, as well as get-togethers, visiting with others, but it was the time he spent with his family that meant the most to him.

He is survived by his wife Rose, their children; Bernard W. (Vicki) Johnson, Dennis (Debbie) Johnson, Bonnie (Steve) Kornaus, Lois Domencich, Debra Johnson, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, his sister in law Theresa Johnson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by; his grandson Andy Johnson, son in law Lee Domencich, his sister Bernice Metoxen, and his brother Frankie Johnson.

Friends may call after 4:00pm Wednesday April 18, 2018 at Oneida United Methodist Church. The Oneida Hymn Singers will sing at 6:30pm followed by a prayer service at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday after 9:00am, until time of service at 11:00am, with Pastor Ann Bullis officiating. The Oneida Hymn Singers will sing Thursday at 10:30am. Full military honors will follow the service, with burial in the church cemetery when conditions improve. RYAN FUNERAL HOME, De Pere is assisting the family with arrangements.
