Danforth, Arlene

Arlene Danforth left this world peacefully and went to her eternal home on Wednesday March 21, 2018. Arlene starts her new spiritual journey and has joined her parents, family members and friends that have paved the way for her.  Arlene lived a life of adventure in many areas and has now embarked on a new and challenging journey.

Arlene was born August 12, 1943, to the late, Evelyn (Hill) and Leander Danforth. Arlene is survived by her son, Anthony T. Benson Jr, and her daughter, Danielle C. Benson, four Grandchildren; Marcus Benson, Kyle J. Danforth, Amber Webster and Paige Benson, and 3 Great Grandchildren; Jaylee Cornelius, Haidyn Danforth, and Sawyer Benson.  Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved Brother, Joe Danforth who passed away on 9/30/16, and was sadly missed by her.

Arlene worked for the State WI Taxation, and Cutler Hammer in Milwaukee. She then moved to California and the one position she held that meant a lot to her was at Chabot College where she met and enjoyed a lifetime of friends.  Many of which were multi-cultural.  One of the people she met that was most impressive to her, was Ceasar Chavez.  She worked closely with Chabot’s Dean of Instruction, Dr. Richard Yeo, who was a close friend.  Arlene was an avid and loyal fan of the San Francisco 49ers football team.  She also enjoyed the many beautiful sites of San Francisco and the surrounding areas.  San Francisco and the Bay Area were very special to her.

Arlene moved back to the Oneida area in 1977 where her roots began. Arlene was employed at Lawrence University, then took a position with a GB paper mill, and was then employed 27 years with the Oneida Tribe until her retirement in 2010.

Per Arlene’s wishes there will be no services.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the kind and caring services of Green Bay Oncology and Unity Hospice.
