For immediate release: March 4, 2022
(Oneida Reservation) As of March 3, 2022, both Brown and Outagamie Counties are now identified as “low” under the most current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance to monitor COVID-19 Community levels. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/community-levels-county-map.html
In response, the Oneida Nation Public Health Officer will end the Public Health Order for Facial Coverings Indoors and Enclosed spaces on the Reservation effective March 4, 2022.
The rescinding of the order does not affect the ability of the Nation’s Government, Departments and Divisions from implementing orders specific to their operations.
Keep in mind, not all public settings/ buildings are subject to these new COVID-19 Community Level metrics. Some settings/ buildings will continue with the mitigation strategies we have become accustomed such as screenings, masking, social distancing. Other businesses may choose to keep mitigation strategies in place for now because of the high-risk population and customers they serve. So please be patient and keep your masks close.
Masks are an effective strategy to protect yourself from COVID-19. Although we are seeing less spread in the community, it is not gone. We encourage you to consider your risk and the risk of others around you.
Thank you for all you do to keep the community safe.
