You’re Invited to the Annual Kunhi-Yo “I’m Healthy” Event

Please join us for the annual Kunhi-Yo “I’m Healthy” Conference on Friday, August 29, at the Oneida Hotel and Conference Center. Kuhni-Yo is hosted in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day to raise awareness about drug overdoses, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths and acknowledge the grief felt by families and friends. This year’s theme, “Integrity” highlights the strength of coming together and standing in support of those connected to the tragedy of overdose.

International Overdose Awareness Day, observed globally on August 31, is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, raise awareness and remember those we have lost. It serves as a powerful call to action, highlighting the impact while reducing the shame and silence surrounding drug-related deaths. As communities across the world continue to grapple with the opioid crisis and substance use challenges, this day offers a moment for education, reflection and unity in the fight to save lives.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. in the evening with breakfast and lunch provided. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for registered, in-person attendees. The conference will include featured speakers focusing on messages of hope, healing from historical trauma and harm reduction. There will also be overdose education, culturally centered activities and community resources.

For more information about the conference, to host a table or share your or a loved one’s story, visit https://oneida-nsn.gov/resources/health/behavioral-health/kunhi-yo/#Event-Information.
