Tribal ID’s


ATTENTION – Effective March 2020 any Tribal ID that does not have an expiration date will not be recognized by the Trust Enrollment Department, nor will they be recognized as valid forms of identification at Tribal functions such as GTC meetings or Oneida Elections. This is pursuant to BC Resolution 03-14-18-A

The Trust Enrollment Department is now open and will issue tribal ID’s 9 am- 4 pm. 

Please note:

  • A separate photo ID is required (older versions of Tribal IDs without an expiration are not acceptable pursuant BC Resolution 03-14-18-A)

Picture ID Card: $5.00 (Cash or Check only) Picture ID Card (55 & older): $2.00 (Cash or Check only) Land Use ID Card: $10.00 2017 WI Act 226 amended Wisconsin statutes to recognize Tribal IDs of Federally recognized tribes as valid forms of identifications for the purposes of voting, purchasing alcohol & tobacco, selling/recycling nonferrous scrap metal, transactions with pawnbrokers & jewelers, and obtaining prescription medicines. This Act references various sections of Wisconsin statutes. You can view these statutes by navigating the Wisconsin State Legislature’s website.

Picture ID Card

A picture Tribal Identification Card can be issued to any, currently enrolled Tribal Member (no age requirements). The Tribal Member must be present to be issued this card and must provide another valid form of picture ID. ex. Driver’s License, State ID, School ID. The Trust Enrollment Department does not accept Broken or Faded Tribal IDs as valid forms of identification.

Cost: $5.00 for persons under 55 years

Cost: $2.00 for persons age 55 and over

ID’s are issued Monday – Friday between 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

If you require a specialized time, please call at least two (2) weeks in advance to schedule an appointment for services.

For children who are under the age of 18, a parent must be present and provide their picture ID.  For children who are not able to sign their name, parent must print the child’s name and sign initials. 

Certification Card

A certification card can be issued to any, currently enrolled Tribal Member (no age requirements). A certification card is a non-picture card (fits in your wallet) that states your enrollment status. A certification card is not a photo ID.

A Certification Card cost: $2.00

The Tribal Member need not be present to be issued this card. The Trust Enrollment Department can mail a certification card upon request. To obtain a Certification Card in the mail, please submit a written request containing your full name, enrollment number or date of birth, a current address, and the $2.00 fee (check or money order only, PLEASE DO NOT MAIL CASH).

 

Land Use ID Card

A Land Use Identification Card is available for Non-Enrolled spouses, descendant’s and dependents of enrolled tribal members. Land Use ID’s are used exclusively for licensing in accordance with the Hunting, Fishing and Trapping Law and for proof of eligibility in accordance with the Public Use of Tribal Land law.  They are not valid for any other purpose.

Cost: $10.00 (ID only, price does not include other applicable fees)

Note: Enrolled Tribal Members with a Tribal Picture ID card, who wish to hunt and fish on the reservation, need only contact the Oneida Conservation Department.
