Hazardous Tree Evaluations

Identifying the risks associated with a hazardous tree is a subjective process. Since the nature of many tree failures is unpredictable, determining which trees will fail and in what fashion the failure will occur, is extremely difficult. The hazard tree evaluation serves as a tool, which can determine when, how, and what actions will be conducted by conservation department staff or if the situation requires an outside Contractor.

To initiate the process, an intake and waiver form must be submitted before the evaluation will be completed.
The requester and request MUST be able to say YES to each statement:

  • Requester is an Oneida Enrolled Member.
  • Requester is designated as an Elder or Disabled Oneida Member.
  • Tree is dead/dying –Not a nuisance.
  • Tree is a Hazard to person(s) and or property.
  • Member is the primary homeowner.
  • Is the homeowner’s primary residence.
  • Home is located within the exterior boundaries of the Oneida Nation Reservation.
  • Tree/Limbs/Branches are NOT near/touching powerlines.
  • Tree is not in the established right-of-way.

To request an intake form or if you have questions regarding an established work order, please contact the Conservation Department’s main office at (920) 869-6500 or by email at Conservation_Department@oneidanation.org.
