Today, the Oneida Nation celebrates the life and accomplishments of our longest serving Chairman, Purcell Powless. The Oneida Business Committee declared November 5 as Purcell Powless Remembrance Day in 2011.
Under his direction, the Oneida Nation saw tremendous growth. Some of the most notable accomplishments under his administration are:

These are only a few of his major accomplishments that moved the Oneida Nation forward into prosperity with a good mind, a good heart, and a strong fire.
