Christine Marie “Chrissy-Bear” Skenandore, age 33 of Gresham, started her spiritual journey home on Friday, November 2, 2018.
Chrissy-Bear was born December 5, 1984 in Shawano County, Wisconsin, a daughter of Michelle Johnson and the late Samuel Skenandore. She attended the Menominee Tribal School and Appleton Schools, graduating from Appleton West High School in 2003. Following high school, Chrissy-Bear was employed at Aunty Annie’s Pretzel Shop in the Fox River Mall. She was currently employed at the Dollar General in Green Bay.
Chrissy-Bear loved family get-togethers, and spending time with her children. She was an avid softball player. Chrissy-Bear and her favorite cousin loved to bomb around in the woods, listening to music and sitting by the campfire. She was also excellent at braiding people’s hair.
Survivors include her five children, Legacy Skenandore and Akasha Skenandore of Gresham, Joseph Sanapaw IV of Keshena, Reina Madrid and Roland Madrid of Green Bay; her mother, Michelle Johnson of Gresham; her siblings, Markie Skenandore of Gresham, Aremina (Daro) James of Neopit, and Nevada Skenandore of Green Bay; her special aunt, Sherry King-James of Keshena; special brothers, Austin Johnson of Shawano, Rodney Twinn, Jr. of Keshena, and Shawn (Kathy) Pamonicutt of Shawano. She is further survived by her paternal grandparents, Ron and Carol Skenandore of Keshena; special nieces, Náeena Skenandore, Perseus Boivin, Arianne Miller, and Cherena James; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel; her maternal grandparents, George and Christine Johnson; uncles, Michael “Mike” King, Darwin “Butch” King, Leonard “LB” Johnson, George Johnson, Jr., and Brian Johnson; and her aunt, Kandace “Kandy” Brown.
Traditional services for Christine M. Skenandore will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Sherry King-James residence, N646 Burnett Lane, Keshena. Fr. Joel Jores will officiate. Visitation will begin at the residence after 4:00 PM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 and continue until the time of service on Friday.
