Christjohn, Cyril L.
Cyril L. Christjohn, 66, Oneida, passed away on August 25, 2016, surrounded by his family. The son of the late Amos and Daisy (Green) Christjohn was born on September 26, 1949.
Cyril loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, and had gifts for them for any occasion. He was an avid collector, and especially enjoyed classic cars and coins.
He enjoyed going to the casino with friends and family, or sneaking there by himself. He rooted on the Green Bay Packers.
Cyril was a proud man, and a proud member of the Oneida Nation. He celebrated his heritage very well.
Cyril is survived by his siblings, Neoma Orsburn, Theodore, Rosalie (Marvin) Lucas, Kay, Gwennie, Dale “Joey,” Pamala Biddell and Paula Ninham; daughter Shelly (Sacramento, CA), son Matthew (Chicago, IL); grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Daisy; grandparents Joseph and Elsie (House) Green, and Moses and Lucille “Lucy” (Hill) Christjohn; brothers, Glen, John, James, Paul and Raymond; grandson, Chad, and many other family members.
Family and friends may visit at Parish Hall, Freedom Road, Oneida on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The Oneida Hymn Singers will perform at 6:30. A Wake Service will be held at 7:00 PM.
Visitation will continue on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church at 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30. The Oneida Hymn Singers will begin singing at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Apostles Cemetery.
