Ninham, Shirley

Shirley A. Ninham, age 68, of Oneida passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 surrounded by her family. We lost a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, sister, and auntie. She was born September 30, 1947, a daughter of the late William and LaVenia (Summers) Metoxen.

Shirley was very spontaneous and adventurous, taking us on many different spur of the moment trips to shop, driving around to look at Christmas lights, rummage saling, and countless other adventures.

She also enjoyed traveling, cherry and strawberry picking, doing laundry and ironing, and most of all the special times spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Craig Ninham; children: Caroline Padilla, Gail (Amber) Padilla, Simone (Miguel) DeCoteau, and David DeCoteau; nephews, Bobby and Patrick; niece, Paula; 18 grandchildren: Cano, Izaiah, Gabriel, Ariel, Ashley, Amanda, Lauren, Forrest, Jesus, Jamie, Sebastian, Blair, Autumn, Rachel, Monique, Stephanie, Gabby, and Alex; and six great-grandchildren. Further survived by a sister, Sharon Metoxen; aunt and good friend, Lou Anne Green; a daughter in spirit, her niece Chantell Ashmore.

Preceded in death by three siblings: Patricia Madrid, Mike Metoxen, and Barbara Metoxen; and nephew, Polo Gutierrez;

Friends may call at Oneida United Methodist Church on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Ann Bullis officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
