Advisory Due to Flooding, Notices of Road Closures

Posted on Apr 15, 2026

(Updated 4/15/26, 12:10 PM)

The Oneida Nation has been monitoring weather and flooding conditions very carefully. There’s been collaboration with the local governments to keep abreast of developing conditions on the Oneida Reservation.

We have the updated notice of road closure from the Town of Oneida below and several aerial photographs taken yesterday of flooded areas. We hope these photographs provide an idea of how extensive and serious the flooding is. Crews are working to drain and transfer water where possible.

  1. Turn around, don’t drown and slow down is the advice of the day. Due to hazy conditions and the appearance of standing water on the roads, it is difficult to see the brown water crossing the surfaces.  If you are traveling beyond about 40 mph, you may not slow down soon enough to avoid the water.
  2. Please keep an extra careful watch out for your children, flooded areas are attractive magnets for kids to play in and around.
  3. For any emergency, call 911 and if possible be prepared with details and location.
  4. More rain is in the forecast, see the attached latest forecast from this morning: NWS Green Bay Weather Briefing – 4/15/26
  5. Check Oneida Social Media and our website for updates as they become available.

Due to rain and flooding in the best interest of safety to our community, Red Willow Parkway is closed, by the Oneida Post Office, Water Circle Place is flooded from Little Bear to Food Distribution.  Apartments are accessible for those residents.

Oneida Food Distribution and Pantry are closed today (4/15) as the property is flooded.

Oneida Transit will operate from an alternative location and phone calls will remain the same.

Site I Housing Park is closed. Please keep away from this area and behind the Civic and near Duck Creek. All areas here are flooded.

Three Sisters Housing Site is approaching flooding levels, please avoid this area except for home owners and residents to access their homes.

Due to flooding conditions, the following roads in the Town of Oneida are CLOSED
until further notice:

Closed:
Olson Rd between Reformatory Rd and Hwy VV
Government Rd at Hwy H access

Warning/Watch:
Intersection of Moore and Poplar Ln
Culbertson Rd bridge near Hwy H
Ray Rd bridge near Hwy EE

Residents and motorists are advised to use extreme caution when traveling throughout the township, as additional roads may experience flooding with little notice. Do not drive through flooded roadways.

Motorists should also use caution when approaching bridges and low-lying areas, as water levels and road conditions may change rapidly.

The Town will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as necessary.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
