Lighting the Bridgeway: A Night of Community and Celebration

Library

On Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Oneida Community came together for a magical evening at Talú?kowanhné (Duck Creek) Bridge along Hwy 54 to Light the Bridgeway and welcome the holiday season. The glow of lights, the sound of song, and the warmth of togetherness made this event truly unforgettable.

Families from across the community gathered to celebrate, and the Oneida Community Library was proud to be part of the festivities! We kept our doors open until 7 PM and offered fun activities for all ages:

  • Candy Cane Reindeer Craft for the kids
  • Mini Water Drum Craft for adults
  • Fresh popcorn made by the library team

The celebration didn’t stop there! BMO joined us with treats and giveaways, while the Oneida Vets and VFW served up hearty favorites like chili, soup, hot dogs, brats, chips, and warm drinks including hot cocoa and hot apple cider. It was a true feast for the season!

This event was more than lights—it was about community, culture, and tradition. Seeing so many families come together reminded us of the strength and beauty of our Oneida Nation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this evening so special. We look forward to many more moments of connection and celebration!
