The Oneida Nation is acquiring the Grand Central Station property located on the corner of Packerland Drive and West Mason Street. The deal is set to close on June 22, 2017, and includes the current buildings housing the car wash, Cousin’s Subs, and Royal Cleaners. These businesses will remain and will operate through leases with the Nation.

This strategic land acquisition will bring more jobs to the community and increase revenues for Oneida Retail Enterprise. A total of 18 new jobs are anticipated. The Nation worked with two consultants to determine the profitability of the location and both consultants indicated positive income projections.

The gas station will briefly close upon purchase to replace the aging underground storage tanks, pumps, and to rebrand the store as an Oneida owned gas station. The Oneida Nation has a strong commitment to the environment, which is why the Nation deems it necessary to undergo this renovation. The projected completion date of all the renovations is set for mid-September.

This acquisition will complement the existing six convenience stores already managed by Oneida Retail Enterprise within the Oneida Reservation.  Moving forward, Oneida Retail Enterprise will continue to examine the market for additional sources of revenue to contribute to the Nation’s growing enterprises.
